    Jiangsu Pengfei Group cooperated with Langfang Branch of China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute to design and manufacture the first 20t/d oil sand horizontal dry distillation rotary furnace in China in July of that year, and completed installation and commissioning at the oil sand mine in Wuerhe District, Xinjiang in August. On September 6, 2005, a barrel of oil sand dry distillation oil was successfully produced in China. After detailed on-site data testing by technical personnel, the equipment's daily processing capacity reached 21.5 tons, exceeding the design capacity; The oil extraction efficiency of oil sands reaches 95.3%, and the residual oil content is less than 0.015%; Dynamic dry distillation ensures even heating of oil sands, smooth ventilation, and easy escape of oil and gas; Strong adaptability to raw materials, able to handle materials with varying particle sizes and powders; Simple and convenient operation, conducive to automated production; The emissions comply with national standards, and the residue can be used as soil and reclaimed; The dry distillation system requires less water and is suitable for use in water scarce areas, reaching an international advanced level. In November of the same year, this horizontal retorting rotary furnace also conducted retorting test on sludge from major refineries in Karamay. The results show that the retorting method can not only completely solve the problem of sludge pollution, but also bring considerable economic benefits
     
    The horizontal dry distillation rotary furnace mainly consists of five parts: feeding, dry distillation, oil and gas cooling and separation, tail gas dust removal and slag discharge, and combustion system. Its working principle is to feed from the inner cylinder to the preheating zone at room temperature~250 degrees, and then enter the dry distillation zone at 250~550 degrees for dry distillation. After the dry distillation is completed, the oil and gas produced directly enter the next process for cooling, while the residue produced after the dry distillation is transferred to the inner cylinder through the outer cylinder to help the entire system achieve complete self heating, and then flows from the outlet to the storage pit for secondary utilization. Compared with similar foreign products, this achievement has more innovative points, such as the design of two material seals and a double disconnect spiral conveyor device in the entire system, which makes the logistics inside the cylinder less prone to blockage; The system utilizes cracking gas and residual carbon to continue self ignition, helping the system achieve complete self heating and allowing dry distillation to continue working without external forces, saving oil and gas; No water is required during the dry distillation process, especially suitable for areas with scarce water resources, and there is no water pollution phenomenon; The residual silica content accounts for more than 60%, which is similar to the clay content. It can replace clay as wall material, cement, ceramic particles, etc., and has a significant energy-saving and emission reduction effect.
